Everyday it seems there is a new fad diet being advertised on television that promises dieters quick ways to lose weight. In theory, simply watching your daily intake and keeping that within a set limit will cause many of us to lose weight quickly. We consume foods that are empty calories, and then wonder why we do not lose weight. You end up consuming the calories that you need, and they are not empty calories. The principal behind the cabbage soup diet is to eat your soup daily, but you also have a different food group daily that you can eat in larger amounts. For example one day you can eat all the soup and fruits that you want.
 
Once you finish a cleansing diet like this, you must stay on track with your eating habits. This does not mean that you are strictly limited as you were on the cleansing diet; it just means that you have to count your calories. You have to make sure that you do not consume more calories than you can burn.  Make wise choice on things that you eat.  Here is some food for thought; one orange has as much energy and calories as one small bite of a donut! In other words if you crave a snack its much better to eat an orange than a donut.

You may feel a little overwhelmed at this point, but once you become aware of what you are putting into your body it becomes much simpler.  After a while you do not even realize that you are watching what you eat, it will become a  normal routine.
